Soft Sugar Cookies Recipe
This soft sugar cookies recipe is very easy to make, and is absolutely delicious. The cookies make for a soft, light, snack anytime of the day and they’re great for the holidays, or any time of the year.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 5 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 cup milk
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 F/190 C.
- In a large bowl, mix together the softened butter and 2 cups of sugar.
- Add in one egg at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom.
- Slowly add the milk to the mixture, mixing well.
- In a smaller bowl, add the rest of the sugar and mix with the leftover cardamom.
- Grease a cookie sheet, and take teaspoonfuls of dough mix, dipping the spoon into the sugar mixture.
- Place onto greased cookie sheet, leaving space in between.
- Bake on middle of rack for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Do not overbake!
- Allow to cool on wire rack.
