Ginger Cookie Recipe
This amazing ginger cookie recipe is simple to make and will please every taster. This recipe yields about 30 individual cookies.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions:
- In a large bowl, mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, beat butter, ginger, and 1 cup of sugar until fluffy. Beat in molasses and egg.
- Fold in flour mixture until completely combined and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350F/175C.
- Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and roll them into remaining sugar.
- Place dough onto ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until edges start to brown. Let cool for 1 minute on cookie sheet, then remove to racks for complete cooling.
